Job Description:/h3:
The JCC of Greater Buffalo is seeking an out:going experienced, full:time Day Camp Director who will be responsible for the administration and management of a state:of:the:art day camp. Looking for an individual to provide strong leadership to programming, staffing, facilities, and overall operations and create innovative programs to engage current campers as well as marketing to new user groups. Individual is responsible for oversight and robust growth of out:of:season business and other JCC rentals.
Responsibilities include the development of programs and activities furthering Jewish identity through the integration of Jewish
Values/life/culture into camping programs. Successful candidate will serve as a member of the JCCs Program Staff team, responsible for the strategic direction of the day camp, the development of summer weekend and off:season programming and rentals.
More than 3 million has been invested in new facilities adjacent to the JCC. Director will be expected to serve as a catalyst, motivator and innovator of programs and services that will cultivate relationships with community and families at Camp Centerland while providing the highest quality day camping programs and services in accordance with national standards.
Candidate must have strong interpersonal and communication skills and be highly organized and detail:oriented. Position requires an ability to work independently and as a strong team player under time pressure. ACA Standards knowledge required and NYS camp rules and regulations strongly desired. Position available September 2017.
QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelors degree in Recreation and Leisure Studies or a related study is required. Masters Degree in an area of recreation or human services or related field is preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of camp experience and three years experience directly managing a camp.
Working knowledge of MS Office (Word, EXCEL, and Outlook) and Camp Management Software

:An understanding of the camp as a larger part of the JCC
