Seeking local candidates in the Buffalo, NY area (relocation will not be provided by the company).

Position Summary:

Responsible for all financial activities related to the legal entity including: federal, state and local taxes; state registrations/nexus compliance; benefit plan accounting and ERISA compliance; insurance, and financial statements, benefit plans and government audits. Acts as the liaison between the departments on all activities best handled or legally required on a corporate basis (compliance).

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance and 10 years of related experience required. Excel, Word and Windows experience required. A CPA and manufacturing experience would be preferred. This is a hands on and a self-starter position.

Position Primary Duties:

1. Employees are responsible for the quality of their work through understanding and fulfilling our customers’ requirements.

2. Responsible for the coordination / preparation of corporate results used for tax filings (federal, state & local), financial statement audit work papers and government census reporting.

3. T Timely filing of monthly, quarterly and annual tax filings for sales and use taxes, state income taxes, local taxes, business licenses and federal tax deposits.

4. Coordinates insurance requirement input for negotiation and selection of competitive insurance coverage of all local policies.

5. Manages the Defined Benefit Retirement and 401 K Plans. Insures that plans meet all legal requirements including ERISA compliance. Responsible for the timely and adequate funding of the Plans.

6. In cooperation with Human Resources, negotiates and oversees financial aspects of health, dental and vision programs. Work with Human Resources on compliance with payroll and benefits regulations.

7. Responsible for coordination of all tax, benefit plans, insurance and worker’s compensation audits. Seeks to insure minimum exposure for the corporation.

8. Manages treasury function, including banking relationships, cash management, wire transfers, ACH payments, borrowings, account security and account reconciliations.

9. Manages states registrations for “doing business in” states (nexus compliance) and annual Secretary of State filings.

10. Maintains the corporation minute book for legal compliance.

11. Management of fleet car program.

12. Perform special assignments as requested by the Controller.
