Position TitleDirector of Continuing Education Posting CategoryStaff Posting NumberU1700041 EmployerUB Foundation Activities Appointment Term Position Type Posting Detail Information Position Summary The University at Buffalo College of Arts and Sciences seeks a director who will provide innovative vision and entrepreneurial leadership in developing and supporting a continuing education (CE) program that will consist primarily of, but not be limited to, a collective of Workshops, Online Courses, Webinars, Speakers, Conferences, Boot Camps, Newsletters, Blogs and a repository of On-Demand academic content developed by UB faculty with expertise in the respective discipline. The director will be responsible for working with the full complement of faculty and staff to draw upon the combined knowledge base of the Undergraduate, Graduate, and Strategic Initiative Programs to coordinate the development of overall course content and various offerings to the professional UB and non-UB communities at large. The director will play a critical role in the roll-out and growth of the CE program linked to achieving both strategic and financial goals of the College of Arts and Sciences. Additionally, the director will be expected to continually adjust the CE program through growth to ensure application of best practices and robust and attractive online course content. Finally, the director will oversee the work with information technology for the development and implementation of an internal infrastructure to support the entire CE program. Work hours: General business hours Monday through Friday. Occasional weekends and evenings will be required to fulfill professional obligation including overseeing program delivery and/or special events. Minimum Qualifications Master's degree and significant and demonstrable experience in leading the creation and implementation of innovative, relevant learning programs; strong interpersonal and communications skills as well as demonstrated success as a collaborative leader and administrator; significant and demonstrable experience with online learning management systems as well as proficiency with technology skills ; a record of entrepreneurial, creative approaches to academic program development; deep knowledge of continuing education learning and best practices, including understanding the possibilities and challenges of online teaching; experience in establishing and maintaining partnerships with external organizations and employers. Preferred Qualifications Business degree and/or entrepreneurial experience preferred.
