Accounting/Financial Analyst I - CDR Buffalo, NY THE OPPORTUNITY: Participate on a team that develops and sustains processes for complying with Federal Reserve capital planning (Comprehensive Capital Analysis and Review (CCAR)) and liquidity management (Liquidity Coverage Ratio (LCR)) reporting requirements and relevant analysis by designing capital planning, liquidity management and profitability measurement tools. Be actively involved in ensuring consistent reporting across numerous Federal Reserve reports (FR Y-9C, Call Report, FR Y-14 series, FR2052), as well as the accuracy, integrity and timely filing of the FR Y-14 and 2052 reports. Support the processes for FR Y-14 and 2052 reporting, capital planning and liquidity management, and company-wide data, compliance and risk management matters and initiatives. POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide assistance in a broad range of activities related to capital planning and liquidity management reporting and analysis, including the FR Y-14 series, FR2052 and internal management reports. Prepare accurate financial reports supported by workpapers or other evidential matter. Actively participate in interpreting and analyzing financial information and presenting results. Understand and adhere to the Company's risk and regulatory standards, policies and controls in accordance with the Company's Risk Appetite. Identify risk-related issues needing escalation to management. Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable. Promote an environment that supports diversity and reflects the M&T Bank brand. Complete other related duties as assigned. NATURE AND SCOPE: The position works under general supervision with supervisory personnel providing guidance, supervision and review of work performed. This position may interact with business line personnel throughout the organization to obtain understanding of financial results/concepts. MANAGERIAL/SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY: None. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, or in lieu of a degree, a combined minimum of 4 years' higher education and/or equivalent work experience. Proficient in spreadsheet software. General knowledge of personal computers. IDEAL QUALIFICATIONS PREFERRED: One to two years' accounting, audit or financial institution experience preferred. Ability to analyze financial data and identify trends, variations or other factors for further investigation. Strong knowledge of accounting concepts and the ability to research authoritative/ regulatory resources. Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to clearly articulate a position to others. Problem solving skills required to evaluate alternative solutions to issues. Ability to clearly organize work and thoughts to efficiently complete assigned tasks. Attention to detail, including accurate proofreading and verification of data, and clear and concise workpaper documentation. Ability to quickly learn various application systems to readily understand output from those systems. Demonstrate strong work ethic and the ability to persevere to meet reporting deadlines.
